About the Event

CanCham Shanghai is excited to partner with the AustCham HR Industry Forum and Lifeline Shanghai to host a breakfast workshop on Building a Strong Mental Health Culture in the Workplace.

Lifeline Shanghai works everyday to raise awareness of the importance of mental health and to fight the stigma in talking about it. Through this forum we want to develop a continuing conversation, understanding and action among business leaders on the benefits of developing better mental health in the workplace.

Whilst declining productivity is influenced by multiple factors, what we do know, is that mental health has a major impact on the global economy each year through costs to employers - lower productivity, sickness absence, staff turnover and so on. Research also shows that people fear the stigma of telling their employer or prospective employer about their mental health condition.

This forum aims to raise awareness and start a discussion of the importance and benefits of psychological safety in a company's culture among Shanghai based corporate leaders and business owners.
