Keqiang Hou Assistant Professor of Finance at SHU-UTS SILC Business School, Shanghai University Dr. Hou, Keqiang is an assistant professor of finance at SHU-UTS SILC Business School, Shanghai University and the lecture of Finance at UTS Business School where he has been on the faculty since 2016. Dr. Hou has been the CEO of Juli Asset Management Ltd since 2018. Before joining Shanghai University and University of Technology Sydney, Dr. Hou was a faculty member at School of Finance, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and prior to doing graduate work at McMaster University, where he received his Ph.D. in economics in 2010, he was an investment banking analyst at Beijing Securities Co. Ltd. Dr. Hou studies the roles played by intangible capital/knowledge capital in securities markets and over the business cycles, macro effects of oil price shocks, idiosyncratic volatility puzzles. His research also covers quantitative trading strategies, including machine learning applications. His published articles appear in Review of Economic Dynamics, Energy Economics, Journal of International Money and Finance, Pacific-Basin Journal of Finance, Finance Research Letters, Economic Modelling, Emerging Markets of Finance and Trade, Australia Economic Papers and etc. At SHU-UTS SILC Business School, Dr. Hou regularly teaches the core finance courses to undergraduate/graduate students, including Investment Analysis, Fixed Income Securities, Applied Portfolio Management, International Financial Management, Private Equity Investment, and Theory of International Finance (Ph.D. level). Dr. Hou received the Best Teacher Award at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics in 2014.

Benjamin Pearce Teacher at World Foreign Language Academy Benjamin Pearce is an English teacher at Shanghai World Foreign Language Academy (上海市世界外国语中学), and has been teaching in China since 2012. His teaching experience in Shanghai expanded to teaching online through various apps, including 有道词典 (YouDao Cidian), 英语流利说(YingYu LiuLiShuo), and WeChat. He has taught nearly 1,500 students around Shanghai, and his online lessons have reached over 1,000,000 people across China. He combines his experience in textbook and curriculum design, with his time as a creative director for a digital marketing company, to create lessons based on principles of engagement, design, and learning. These lessons are built around his teaching philosophy that learning and playing can co-exist, and that a comfortable learning environment starts with the relationship between student and teacher. He uses his platform as a teacher to spread positivity, encouragement, and creativity to his students in and out of the classroom. His next project is focused on supporting poor primary schools across rural China.

Philippe SNEL President of Board at Lycée français de Shanghai As one of the few senior foreign lawyers working in Shanghai, Philippe has been managing his own law practice in China since 2004. Today he heads a team of about 30 lawyers and paralegals providing legal assistance to foreign invested businesses in China and also to Chinese companies expanding internationally. He is a regular public speaker on all issues related to SinoEuropean business relations and his opinion in this regard is regularly solicited both by Chinese and European business leaders and officials. Since 2016 Philippe has been serving as Chairman of the Board (volunteer position) of the Lycée Français de Shanghai (Shanghai French School), a parent-owned, a registered nonfor-profit private organization operating the only French international school in Shanghai. In addition he teaches Intellectual Property & Technology Law at the Shanghai Normal University (Finance & Business School) and is active in several professional and educational organizations such as the Benelux Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai (BenCham) and Sinnolabs, a business accelerator for European technology companies in China. He is a member of the Brussels Bar (Nederlandse Orde der Advocaten). Philippe is fluent in Dutch, French and English and conversational in Mandarin and German.
